Mrs Anjali Sharma qualified as a Consultant Orthodontist in 2015 and is currently working as a Locum Orthodontic Consultant at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Northwick Park Hospital. She also works at Eastman Dental Hospital, UCLH as a Locum Specialist one day a week to teach/supervise orthodontic postgraduate students.
Anjali became a Specialist Orthodontist in 2013 and completed her consultancy training at the Eastman Dental Hospital, UCLH and Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford. She has a specific interest in Failure of Eruption of teeth, hypodontia, Orthognathic treatment, management of complex multi-disciplinary cases and teaching.
Anjali qualified as a dentist from Queen Mary and Westfield College, UOL with Honours and two prizes for Clinical and Academic excellence. During her orthodontic postgraduate training she was awarded a Distinction and a prize for her MClinDent research project in 2012 which, was presented at the British Orthodontic Conference and has since been published.
To date, Anjali has completed many audit projects. The majority of these have been presented at Local or regional meetings and or presented as posters at the British Orthodontic Conference. Her most recent audit on the efficiency of joint clinics has been published in a peer reviewed journal.
Throughout her training Anjali has published research articles in International, European and National peer reviewed journals. Her most recent research publication on ‘Failure of eruption of permanent molars- a diagnostic dilemma?’ has been published in the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry and has been presented Internationally in Dubai, UAE and will be presented in Phoenix, USA in December 2016. Previously, she has also presented this research topic at the National Consultant Orthodontic Group Symposium and National Training meeting to Orthodontic postgraduate students. In addition, she has presented other research at the European Paediatric Dental conference.
In the past, Anjali has worked in a family practice as a GDP, a Specialist Registrar in Paediatric dentistry and Senior House officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which have equipped her with a broad range of knowledge and experience in the management of children and adult patients. She looks forward to welcoming new patients at the practice.
