Biography

Dr. Giuseppe Mainas, GDC n. 294150

Dr. Mainas is a specialist in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. He has a ten-year experience in treating complex periodontal cases and in performing implant placements and advanced bone regeneration procedures.

He graduated in 2014 at the Alfonso X el Sabio University of Madrid (Spain). In 2015 he moved to Rome (Italy) to frequent the Periodontology department of the G. Eastman Dental Hospital. In 2020, he completed the 3-year full-time Master’s Degree in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), at the International University of Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain). He recently got his PhD in Periodontology at King’s College London.

In detail, he can offer the following treatments:

• Non-surgical gum treatments
• Surgical gum treatments, including resective procedures, guided tissue regenerations and periodontal plastic surgeries
• Implant placement
• Guided bone regenerations
• Sinus elevation
• Surgical tooth extractions
• Impacted teeth exposures

Outside the clinic, he is involved in the academia. He is a researcher in the Periodontology Unit at Guy’s Hospital (King’s College London).

He has been awarded the Osteology Research Academy Education grants in 2019 and 2025, the MRC-IAA grant in 2023, the BSP Clinical Fellowship Award in 2023, the BSP Research Grant in 2024 and the Haleon/ODRT research grant in 2025. He is first author and co-author of several scientific publications on Periodontology and Implantology, published on national and international medical and dental journals.
