Dr Maria Kalkani
Dr. Kalkani qualified as a dental surgeon in 2007 at the University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She completed post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Guy’s and University College Hospital in London. Dr. Kalkani worked as a children’s dentist and clinical lecturer at Guy’s Hospital before obtaining a Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry and an MFDS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
In 2013, she began a specialist training program in Paediatric Dentistry at Leeds Dental Institute, where she earned a Master’s Degree with Distinction and a Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry (MPaed Dent) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2021, she completed a postgraduate course in Advanced Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Kalkani is a member of the British, European, and International Society of Paediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (AAPD). She has published research in peer-reviewed journals and has lectured internationally on Paediatric Dentistry.
She currently holds a part-time Associate Specialist position at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Hospitals, treating children with complex medical and dental needs.
