Dr Mahdi Faraji
With more than 15 years of experience in dentistry, Dr Faraji has a particular interest in periodontics and implant dentistry, with a focus on helping patients maintain healthy gums, preserve their natural teeth and achieve long-term oral health.
He has completed extensive postgraduate training in periodontology, including Clinical Periodontology at the Complutense University of Madrid and an MSc in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) at UNAM. His clinical experience includes the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease, non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, crown lengthening, soft-tissue procedures around teeth and implants, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Faraji has a strong background in dental education. He previously worked as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Supervisor at the University of Pretoria, where he taught periodontology and supported students in diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical care. He has also mentored dentists in periodontal diagnosis, implant treatment planning and soft- and hard-tissue management.
Dr Mahdi is a member of the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and has contributed to research in periodontal and implant-related fields. He also holds an MSc in Health Management, reflecting his broader interest in healthcare quality, research and patient-centred care.
Dr Mahdi believes that good treatment starts with listening. He takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain their findings clearly and discuss the available treatment options before agreeing on a personalised plan. His priority is to preserve natural teeth wherever clinically appropriate and achieve stable, maintainable results for the long term.
